Let’s Talk… Unforeseen House Expenses!!
It’s hot here in the southern part of the USA. AC’s are stressed and on the fritz. So what do you do if an expensive repair bill happens? Here are a few things to consider to handle an unforeseen home expense.
- First, put a little away each month into a savings account. They say out of sight out of mind. Use it for only house repair expenses when needed.
- Second, when you buy a house, consider a home warranty. Realize that it won’t cover everything, but depending on the terms, it may be well worth it.
- Third, maybe upgrade to more efficient appliances when they break. For example, a more efficient AC may pay for itself over time because it’s going to save you money on your electric bill.
In the end, you can get an idea of what expenses will cost you over time each month. The important thing is to factor that number in your budget and plan appropriately for it each month.
