Let’s Talk… the Price of Renting a Car!!
Well, this was the first time post coronavirus that I attempted to rent a car. To say I got sticker shock is an understatement.
Many of you know, we try to go someplace in the summer where the temperature isn’t as hot as New Orleans or Houston. We had an awesome idea to head to Maine. It’s a really long drive so flying and renting a car at the Portland Airport became part of the plan. I checked out a couple of sites and the cheapest I could get was $80-100 a day. Keep in mind there would be added fees and taxes on top of that.
What’s some innovative ways to get around these high prices? Is it possible to ship my car? Is it better to just Uber everywhere? But what if you’re in a rural location? These are all questions we have to answer for that is a major cost that makes a trip un-doable. Keep in mind, I checked other cities and they were also high. It seems that the days of 20$ a day rentals are long gone!!
